Up ahead the passage opens out into another big chamber. It’s smelly in here. The flickering light from your torches shows a number of crates, barrels and boxes as you peer cautiously in through the doorway. ---

I’ll duck behind a crate while trying to move forward to allow some room for the others to get out of the tunnel and behind cover. “Great, Auto from now on you’re leading to check for traps. Can someone shed some light on the situation so we know whether it’s a trap or actual enemies?” ---

(Wolverine had 8 hit points so he’s only wounded at the moment.) Taking advantage of every scrap of shadow he can find, and every piece of cover too, **Autolycus** edges forward. (I’m assuming Wolvie has ducked back for now.) Straining his ears, Auto hears what sounds like the cable of a crossbow being eased into firing position as quietly as possible a few feet away. He’s about fifteen feet from the entrance at this point. ---

Can I throw my torch into the darkness without hitting my own team or some other obstacle?, if I can then I do so, we have other torches. ---

“Ouch, that hurt. Can somebody get this arrow out of me please?” If taking it out does no additional damage, I’ll rest until after the excitement of the room. If it does damage coming out, I’ll cast Cure Light Wounds on myself and then join the others in attacking the darkness. If it does so much damage coming out that I’m unconscious, then I’m SOL (or dependent on a Pastafarian). :eek: ---

“Do we have anything hard and metallic, preferrably thicker than whatever armor Wolvie bought from Ye Old Wall of Mart? I’ve demonstrated an ability to hear the crossbows being strung, so if I’m lucky I might be able to detect what angle they are coming from.
