A lot of Christmas stuff is made in Costa Rica. I lived there Sep’05 to Apr’06 and many stores had Christmas stuff the whole year. Many towns don’t bother take down the decorations: they lit 'em up any time there’s a festival. Yeah, I’ve seen “Have a Merry Christmas” all lit up in March.
Well, that’s getting your money’s worth out of 'em.
I have to say, I don’t mind the christmas lights going up early and staying up. It gets awful dark here for a couple of months, and any light is appreciated.
My local Hobby Lobby started putting out their Christmas stuff - even the trees - at the beginning of August.
I used to get freakin’ aggravated at the whole concept. Now I just kinda roll my eyes and walk by it. I don’t start looking at the stuff until mid November.
