Any other fans? I can’t get enough of these guys… I discovered them about two years ago (I was new to metal at the time) after hearing _Schism_ on the radio. A week later, I bought _Lateralus_ and over the next year or so, I had to have listened to it a couple hundred times. I’m a little sick of it now due to my overindulging but luckily, I still have the other three albums to listen to and abuse. Right now, I’m listening to Aenima for about the third time in as many hours and will probably repeat it one or two more times before going to bed. ---

I caught them live last year. It was one of the most powerful concerts I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to a lot), both musically and visually. Some of the graphic art used in conjunction with the songs was somewhat, er, disturbing perhaps, but then that’s to be expected. These guys are cutting edge imnsho. I guess you’re familiar with Perfect Circle as well. ---

I love em, but only when I’m in the right mood. I have AENima and Undertow, didn’t pick up their newest one. I kept forgetting about it. But they rock. And APC is damn good, too. ---

Yeah, I’m a fan, as well. “Lateralus” is probably my favorite, but “Ænima” is close behind it. If anyone is interested, APC is debuting a lot of their new material on August 8th (I think) at Metro in Chicago. Tickets go on sale sometime this week. ---

I discovered Tool a long time ago (I want to say 6 years, but I’m not entirely sure). My friend played “Sober” for me, and I was instantly hooked. I saw them live in Baltimore last year. By far, one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. ---

Yeah… I have APC’s _Mer De Noms_ as well and will probably pick up their new CD a couple weeks after its released. I still need Tool’s _Salival_ though. And **Miller** , I’m not sure what you mean by your Bush anecdote. I like both bands so I might be missing something… did you just insult Tool? :mad: ---

(I think he’s trying to be naughty. heh heh heh.) But yeah, I’ve liked tool for about… four years? My friend and I used to have this thing about how tool is a ‘gateway’ band… one gets into them and from Tool discovers other, better bands (king crimson, pink floyd, helmet). (not that tool isnt’ great, but they’re connected to/influenced by some good stuff) I saw APC in 99, good stuff. Aenima’s an amazing album. ---

Tool’s pretty good. Not a huge fan, but I’d have to say that Opiate is an unbelievably incredibly good album, and I wish I could tack a few more "-ly"s in there. A boss I had at a summer job during HS said that one of the best experiences of his life was at a Tool show. It involved psychotropic fungi, a caged off pit, and “Sober.” The story’s a bit lengthy to get into here, so I’ll let you imagine for yourselves. ---

I caught Tool on the second stage at Lalapalooza way back in 93. I bought thier album there at the show, and was hooked. I don’t think any of their follow up efforts have been as good, but that’s they way it normally goes. They were a great live show, even though there weren’t that many people watching them at that time on the second stage. Later on that year they got bumped up to the Main stage, and I think that helped out their popularity a lot. By the way, I don’t think Bush sounds anything like Tool. ---

I first heard Tool in late 96/early 97. My (ex)boyfriend’s best friend brought over a bunch of lyrics and they were both horrified that I’d never heard of the band. They played Prison Sex and Sober for me and I was hooked. Not too into the newer cd… it kinda drags out a bit too much for my tastes. ---

I bought Aenima and Lateralus, and was heavily into the latter, mostly for Danny Carey’s drumming. But then I started reading interviews with Carey and it became evident he is into Aleister Crowley nonsense and attributes his drumming skills to Luciferian inspiration. Seeing the video for “Parabola” pretty much ended any enjoyment I could get from their music. UnuMondo ---

I like Tool…think I discovered them in '98. Prog metal is probably my favorite genre of music, so they fit right in. ---

They’ve been known to give many different stories about the same subject, each conflicting with the other. As far as I can tell, it has to do with their notion that attention should be paid to the music, not the band. If you keep hearing conflicting reports about who the people are, you start to disregard everything. ---

Ok Guys…enlighten me! Whats with the weird ass images in their videos? The one I JUST saw…strange woman(?) holding a strange guy(?) by the ankles and drawing a circle on the ground with his head…UMM. At the climax of the vid. they (morph?) together and were left with this even stranger weird thing. I’m not Knocking them, the music kicks ass. But I dont get it.
