No Johnny Depp? He chainsmokes on Jay Leno, once yelled “I f\*ck animals!” in the middle of a plane, trashed the occasional hotel room, broke the ice with Hunter S. by shooting plastic explosives connected to his gas tank, etc.- great actor but flipping nuts. ---

I saw John Malkovich on some late night talk show talking about putting on his “stabbing clothes” and following some guy who pissed him off. That (and his general Malkovichyness) put him on my list. I dunno if she counts as a celebrity, but Jocelyn Wildenstein should be on the list. Brrrr. ---

Imagine a six foot six Jamaican rapper dressed up as an ultra flamboyant Caribbean pirate singing elaborate and heavily echoed Gregorian style rap chants in the falsetto voice of Porky Pig strung out on PCP. The guy is more than just unique or eccentric, he is completely freaking strange, and I mean that in a good way. See him once and your musical vision will never again be the same. ---

Dave Mathews. The guy seems almost completely detached from reality, on top of being full of himself and downright creepy. He’s recorded a few good songs but I just don’t see how so many people can really _like_ this guy. ---

Lil’ Kim is weird? Only if rapping constantly about sex and dressing like a hooker to keep your 15 minutes of fame career going is weird. Cynical and desperate, sure but not weird. Old Dirty Bastard David Lynch Captain Beefheart Takeshi Kitano (if we branch out beyond Western celebs) Beck ? (Question Mark of Question Mark and The Mysterians “96 Tears” fame. Changed his name to the punctuation symbol and claims he’s originally from Mars) Syd Barrett If we include the dead, although this is mostly talented but seriously mentally ill people: Klaus Kinski Oscar Levant Skip Spence Sun Ra Elvis Presley Wesley Willis Philip K. Dick Vincent Van Gogh Andy Kaufman (who spent his career trying to muddy the waters as to whether it was all an act) And not really famous but surrealist theatre director/actor/poet/artist/drug addict/madman Antonin Artaud, who spent most of his later life in asylums, could probably out weird just about anybody. His obsession with human bodily waste aand belief that it is the pure distillation of our human essence buts him further into loopy land than the list in the OP. ---

While Watts isn’t in the same league as Jagger when it comes to dicking around, he screwed more then his fair share of groupies both before and after he was married. And he had quite the cocaine habit during the mid-'70’s early-'80’s as well as doing more then a little dabbling in heroin. Admitedly he has been clean and hasn’t been groupie groping for the last 15 or so years, but that hardly makes up or excuses his past escapades. ---
