There was an excellent one about how the Lord of the Rings would have looked if it had been written by different authors. But sadly my search skills are not up to the task… ---

Actually my first thought was the **Horror of Blimps** , and **The Ron Thread**. Since I couldn’t think of a third, I just posted **Rio**. But “ **There is evil in my back yard. It’s in a cooler** ” also seems classic. **Sampiro’s** thread “The Things We Said today” about his mother’s illness/passing. The 1945 thread mentioned above. I gravitate toward the personal and humorous, although other things like airplane on a treadmill are fascinating and informative. Other GQ threads are really interesting too, but usually don’t go long enough to become an epic thread. ---
