I only have one top album at the moment, and that’s it, but that’s because I’m a die-hard besotted fan, and I’d been waiting 9 years for it (this is her 11th album, and her last album before this one was released in 1998). ---

The Neon Bible - Arcade Fire The Woods - Sleater Kinney Era Vulgaris - QotSA 10’000 Fall fans can’t be wrong - a complilation of The Fall All awesome save Era Vulgaris which I’m listening to to try and convince myself its really any good (its not) before seeing the Queens live next month. ---

“Neon Bible” - Arcade Fire: Beautiful and layered, this is the best album of 2007 for me. “Because of the Times” - Kings of Leon: Fun yet inconsistent, somewhat dark, crammed with various styles and “love them or hate them” vocals. I love them. “In Rainbows” - Radiohead: I haven’t listened to this one enough to get a great sense of it yet, but so far…fantastic. The only Radiohead albums I’d put ahead of it: The Bend, Ok Computer, and maybe Kid A (ask me again tomorrow and I’ll tell you something different). Bonus points for letting you name your own price to download. “In Your Honor” - Foo Fighters: I bought this a few years ago, listened to it a few times and forgot about it. Dusted it off recently and was blown away. Trim it down to a single CD and it would be a masterpiece (which is true of most double albums). “Meddle” - Pink Floyd: Finally got around to giving this a spin after playing all the “essential” Pink Floyd albums to death. Where have you been all my life?!? Not everything here works, but the stuff that does work is good old fashion sweet Pink Floyd goodness. ---

**My Morning Jacket** - “Okonokos” - live recording. All of their albums are great. This a nice sampling of older and newer stuff in a live setting. They rock. **Band of Horses** - “Cease to Begin” - good rock with a folksy vibe. Their other album kicks ass too. **Aesop Rock** - “None Shall Pass” - Killer underground hip-hop. Again, other albums kick ass. **M Ward** - “Transistor Radio” - mellow folky rock. His other albums are also very good. **The Hold Steady** - “Separation Sunday” - Kick ass rock and roll. Get a lot of comparison to the Boss. All of their albums are great…this is just one I am really digging right now. ---

**Old Crow Medicine Show - Big Iron Box** Alt-Country/Americana sort of thing. They do some pre-WW2 songs and a few originals. Very solid stuff. They’re coming to town in a couple of days, and I hope to see them (maybe). \*\* Animal Collective - Feel\*\* Sort of an experimental indie pop thing. You’ll dig it if you’ve heard of Islands or The Unicorns. ---

Right now, as in this week, or right now as in these last few weeks? The best music out this week would probably be [Tough Alliance](http://www.myspace.com/kokakolaveins) or [Old Time Religun](http://www.myspace.com/theoldtimerelijun). For the past couple of weeks, I can’t recommend Sunset Rubdown or the Good Life enough. The front man from each have hugely successful main projects, Wolf Parade and Cursive, respectively - but their latest two side project albums are fucking brilliant. Best songs I could find online from each album: Good Life - [Heartbreak](http://www.myspace.com/thegoodlife) Sunset Rubdown - [Winged/Wicked Things](http://www.scjag.com/mp3/jag/wingedwickedthings.mp3) If you can, try to listen to _For the Pier (and dead shimmering)_.
