Good point. Reese Witherspoon didn’t turn color even after having “ten times more sex” than anyone else. Only after she read the D.H. Lawrence novel.

Question: when did the hotsie-totsie oatmeal-cookie-baking blonde change? And what did it to her? I noticed she was B&W a lot longer than most of the others.

I meant corruption in the biblical sense, eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge. I can’t think of another movie that basically says that Eden wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Ooo, toughie. Today I’d have to say:

Breaker Morant
Notorious
Limitless
The Incredibles_

Ask me again in a week, or a month, and it might change.

Breaker Morant

Bottle Shock
Wallace & Gromit - Curse of the Were Rabbit

So far, the following films have had more than one vote (film name followed by number of votes):

The Maltese Falcon - 3
Casablanca - 5
The Godfather - 4
The Godfather II - 2
Airplane! - 3
A Clockwork Orange - 2
Goodfellas - 2
Aliens - 2
Unforgiven - 2
The Big Lebowski - 4
The Seven Samurai - 2
North by Northwest - 3
Pulp Fiction - 2
Jaws - 2
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan - 2
Dr. Strangelove: 3
Miller’s Crossing - 3
Raiders of the Lost Ark - 2
Star Wars: A New Hope - 2
Dances with Wolves - 2
Fargo - 5
The Lion in Winter - 2
The Shawshank Redemption - 4
The Blues Brothers - 2
Animal House - 2
The Empire Strikes Back - 2
Lord of the Rings (any of the three or all three) - 2

I didn’t try to enforce any rules about how many movies someone could name. If it was mentioned in this thread as a selection, it got counted. The one exception is Pleasantville - we talked about it here, but it’s not clear to me that anyone intended to count it as one of their favorites.

(Covering my eyes so as not to be influenced…)

1. Lawrence of Arabia
2. Casablanca
3. The Lion in Winter
4. Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
5. Chinatown

Hmm, nothing after the early '70’s. I sense a regularity here…
