I dared do it! But don’t tell anyone who knows me…They wouldn’t believe you anyway **First: The Who’s, What’s, Where’s & Why’s of a Supplemental Poll** As per **Dragon Phoenix** ’s request in Week 20’s Bananarama Supplemental Poll **and** in an attempt to squeeze as many bands in the shortest amount of time possible, The Monday 6 @ 6 Poll, is once again featuring a supplemental poll. This supplemental poll, like the regular [\*\* Better Than Ezra\*\* thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=133858) will be closed and tallied 6 days from today, Monday September 10, 2002 at 6PM EDT. Results from both polls will be posted a few minutes later on that same day in _Week #22_’s regularly scheduled _James Brown 6 @ 6 Poll_. **Second: The Poll & How it Works** It’s simple enough, post your **6** favorite songs by the artist. Personal observations, opinions, liner notes, comments and the like are always welcome but are in no means required. **Third: The Supplemental Poll Artist’s Discography** (Reader’s Digest Version) If your memory of the featured artist isn’t exactly up to speed, here’s a link to their discography with 30 second cuts of some of their tracks when you drill down through the albums: [Waterloo Voulez-Vous Vistors Super Trouper Ring Ring Arrival Album Abba Mas Oro Thank You For The Music Oro-Grandes Exitos](http://www.cdnow.com/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=982194570/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/discography.html/ArtistID=ABBA) \*\*Lastly: The Supplemental Poll Artist of the Week \*\* Without further ado, those Swedes from the 70’s, the pop superstars known as: **Abba**. Feel free to post any works from their Solo projects: You know: [Frida](http://www.cdnow.com/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=982194570/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/discography.html/artistid=FRIDA/), [Benny Andersson](http://www.cdnow.com/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=982194570/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/discography.html/ArtistID=ANDERSSON*BENNY), [Andersson & Ulvaeus](http://www.cdnow.com/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=982194570/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/discography.html/ArtistID=ANDERSSON*BENNY%5CBJORN+ULVAEUS) or [Agnetha Faltskog](http://www.cdnow.com/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=982194570/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/discography.html/ArtistID=FALTSKOG*AGNETHA). Here are my _6_ **ABBA** picks: 1. Mamma Mia (No, this doesn’t mean you’ll be seeing me coming out of the Winter Garden Theater any time soon…I’m much too uncultured for that type of venue) 2. Money, Money, Money (Something I’m quite certain none of the band members are lacking) 3. Take A Chance On Me (Not a bad song…still kinda holds up) 4. S O S (Thanks to Edelweiss for lifting it and sampling it on their late 80’s club track 5. King Kong Song (Dedicated to Lyn Samuels) 6. I Know There’s Something Going On – **Frida** Solo (I know Phil {Yuck!} Collins produced the percussion track – But I can’t resist playing it on a jukebox every time I come across it OK, any takers? I Double dare you! (Dragon Phoenix, you asked for it, you got it. Will there be more Abba votes than Better Than Ezra votes? My guess is yes, but I could be way off on that prediction So tell us…What are your **6** favorite tracks by **Abba**? **Thanking you all in advance**. Have a great week. ---

Good call Dragon Phoenix. 1. Voulez Vous 2. Angel Eyes 3. I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do 4. Waterloo 5. Dancing Queen 6. The Name of the Game 2 to 6 will probably change after another spin of Abba Gold. But ‘The Name of the Game’ will remain THE No. 1 for me… ---

ABBA was my favorite all-time group in the mid 70’s. Until I discovered ELO. 1. SOS (only palindromic Top 40 song by a palindromic group, also, great acoustic guitar) 2. The Name of the Game (again, great acoustic work by Bjorn) 3. Waterloo 4. Bang-a-Boomerang (go ahead, laugh) 5. Fernando 6. I Am the City (really like the overlapping vocals) Hardcore fans should run out RIGHT NOW and get the _ABBA - The Definitive Collection_ DVD. ---

Once saw top-notch ABBA tribute act Bjorn Again on the same bill as Nick Cave and Nirvana. They blew the place apart when they did a straight cover of “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. anyway, to business. 1. Take a chance on me 2. Winner takes it all 3. Gimme Gimme Gimme, but the Sisters of Mercy’s version is better! 4. Fernando 5. Dancing Queen 6. One of Us, their most poignant song, from when the marriages were breaking up. ---

1. The Day Before You Came 2. The Way Old Friends Do 3. Tank om uder jarden ung (or however it’s spelled). Early ABBA Swedish song. 4. The Winner Takes It All (& Louise Petrie’s French Version “Bravo! Tu as gagne.”) 5. Waterloo (& ABBA’s French. Swedish & German versions) 6. Fernando (& Frida’s Swedish version) And a special nod to “Time,” the song from ABBACADBRA that uses the melody to “Knowing Me, Knowing You.” Excellent version. ---
