Subtitled: _Now I know I’m getting old as a fuck! It’s bad enough all my favorite ballplayers are now younger than me but now they gotta go & induct Elvis Costello into the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame?_ **First: The Who’s, What’s, Where’s & Why’s of the Headliner Poll** In an attempt to squeeze as many bands in the shortest amount of time possible, The Monday 6 @ 6 Polls include a Headliner poll. This Elvis Costello poll, like the featured [**Clash** thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=147594) will be closed and tallied 7 days from today, Monday December 9, 2002 at or about 6PM EDT. Results from all polls will be posted a few minutes later on that same day in _Week #34_’s featured _Cream 6 @ 6 Poll_. _Why you ask?_ After the ZZ Top poll, sometime this decade, the plan is to compile all the votes from the SDMB & post them in a few threads. Then I’ll burn a several volume CD set & mail ‘em out to the voters who helped keep these threads going. Here are links to the artists we’ve already closed polling on: [Alice Cooper](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=146258) [§ Cheap Trick](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=146261) [§ Captain Beefheart (& His Magic Band)](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=144865) [§ Nick Cave (& The Bad Seeds)](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=144866) [§ Leonard Cohen](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=144868) [§ The Cars (Benjamin Orr, Rick Ocasek)](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=143919) [§ Neko Case (& Her Boyfriends) / New Pornographers](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=143922) [§ Canned Heat](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=142665) [§ J J Cale](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=142668) [§ Johnny Cash (& The Tennessee Two)](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=141656) [§ Cab Calloway](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=141657) [§ Dave Clark Five](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=140724) [§ The Bonzo (Doo-Dah) Dog Band](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=140728)[§ Cake](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=139735)[§ Beck (Hanson)](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=139733) [§ Jimmy Buffett](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=138526) [§ Jeff Buckley](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=138529) [§ The Byrds](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=137483) [§ Buffalo Springfield](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=137489) [§ Bush](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=136435) [§ Kate Bush](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=136436) [§ Jackson Browne](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=134736) [§ James Brown](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=134734) [§ Better Than Ezra](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=133858) [§ Banarama](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=132607) [§ David Bowie / (Tin Machine)](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=132606) [Boston](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=131649) [§ Bon Jovi](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=131647) [§ Blur](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=130415) [§ Belle & Sebastian](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=130416)[§ Blue Öyster Cult](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=129242) [§ Blondie](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=128154)[§ Blink 182](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=126512)[§ Black Sabbath](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=125265)[§ The Black Crowes](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=124090)[§ Bjork / Sugarcubes](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=122944)[§ B-52’s](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=121780)[§ Chuck Berry](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=120533)[§ Beastie Boys](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=119243)[§ Jeff Beck](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=118062)[§ The Band / Robbie Robertson](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=116976)[§ The Beach Boys](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=115792)[§ The Beatles](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=114515)[§ The Animals](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=110522)[§ Tori Amos](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=109202) [§ Alice In Chains](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=146259) [§ The Allman Brothers](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=107748)[§ AC/DC](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=125268) [§ Abba](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=133862)[& Aerosmith](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=106595) polls. This IS an extremely hard one, I previously hypothesized (to myself, not this forum) that none of my top 6 will be the top 6 votegetters – and I’m glad that a lot of people will be in the same boat. This is the poll that ive been WAITING for – Costello’s my second favorite artist besides Pink Floyd, but my Floyd faves will most likely be among the top vote getters: 1. Tart 2. No Action 3. Hand in Hand 4. This is Hell 5. Lip Service 6. The Long Honeymoon ---
