As much as I liked Tre, I have to admit it was purely as a charisma thing. He had messed up a lot of dishes lately. “I can do bread pudding with my eyes closed”, please. Open your eyes next time and notice your stuff is tasteless.
I am glad that Hung did well again. He had a losing streak and it sucked that he did well last time and it was a do-over. That said, I hope he goes next.
We didn’t get enough Camille. C’mon Bravo, we like Camille. Give us more!
That “I can do bread pudding with my eyes closed” line was priceless, based on what came later. And then to stand in front of the judges and say he really didn’t know how to do it - he deserved to go home right there. Did he not remember there are cameras everywhere? And I don’t understand why the Tre didn’t taste everything that went out to the judges before it was sent. He knew which plates were headed to the judges - he should’ve tried them. And Casey’s knife skills - it was just painful. I thought Hung shined in his dismembering the chickens. He had all the pieces separated and sorted when he was done and it looked very neat, as well as being fast. And the judges crack about tuna tartare being “cliche”? They loved his tuna the night before. You can’t have it both ways. Sara surprised me with her assertiveness, too. In a good way.
I’m still trying to tolerate Hung. My teeth don’t grind every time he’s on screen. Howie is now my Anti-Chef. CJ is still ‘teh hawt’ for me, moreso now that Tre is gone. And I agree that Tre’s booting was the most logical - he was the head chef. It was his kitchen to lose, and he did.
Please let Casey go next week. But they won’t as there would only be one woman left and Sara’s moments of glory are far and few between.
I can say I’ve had risotto maybe 5 times in my life. Yet, in watching Top Chef, Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and the like it seems to be the do or die dish for many chefs and it seems to be on every danged menu. Is it really that popular?
I would not be surprised if Sara won this simply because I think she showed a lot of her skills yesterday and I think she has gottena lot of confidence out of that win. I really hate athis restaurant wars because there is such a diversity of responsibilities. Since it is a cooking show and Tre made the worst dish both nights it is not suprising he went. But that has a lot to do with the fact that Brian did not cook anything, and CJ made one thing…poorly, and Casey did not distinguish herself. I suppose you could say Tre had the most to gain and the most to lose, but I just wish the competition was on an even ground for everybody.
You know, my problem with Hung is that he looks spent. At the beginning of the show, he looked like he already knew he had won the competition. Now he looks like they just pulled him out of a garbage bin. All his “confidence” looks like an act. He is not feeling it.
Ted is like Mikey-he’ll eat anything. He said that salmon repulsed him-he went as far as to say he wanted it off the table. If you read and watched the Bravo blogs, Colicchio said that at the end of the day it was the food that was being judged.
I don’t care who his sister is, Chris Caccione is a nobody. He’s definitely not “legendary.” Get him and his bitchy queen stereotyped representation of gayness off my TV.
I’m disappointed Tre got kicked off, but based on not being able to make a bread pudding, it was the right decision. Who can’t make a bread pudding? It’s stale bread soaked in milk. Anyone can make it.
