A few more that had me LOL:

\*\*My Cousin Vinny
The Ruling Class
\*\*

… and almost anything by Woody Allan.

The winner of this thread will be **Airplane!** From the opening scene (parady of _Jaws_) to the end credits, there are more laughs in this movie than any I’ve ever seen. Actually, I could round out a top-5 with others from members of the ZAZ group [ul][li] **Top Secret** (they had me at “Skeet Surfin’”)[_] **The Naked Gun** (the first one)[_] **The Kentucky Fried Movie** (dated, but the “Fistful of Yen” is a classic) **Ruthless People** (not only extremely funny, but with a very clever plot and wonderful performances)[/ul][/li]
**A Fish Called Wanda** needs to be here somewhere.

Well, some have already been listed, but:

[ol]
[li]Raising Arizona[/li][li]Life of Brian[/li][li]Orgazmo _(“You haven’t seen Orgazmo? Where’ve you been, Mars?” “No, Utah.” “Oh. Sorry.”)_[/li][li]Better Off Dead[/li][li]Blazing Saddles[/li][/ol]

And an honorable mention to a film I had never even heard of last week, _The Last Remake of Beau Geste_, a Marty Feldman film. A great spoof of the Gary Cooper film, and old Hollywood films in general.

Animal House
Duck Soup
Blazing Saddles
What’s Up, Tiger Lily?

Add one more vote each for _The Producers_ and _Duck Soup_ (though on other days I’m as likely to replace _Duck Soup_ with _Horse Feathers_ or _Monkey Business_ – or even _The Cocoanuts_).

After that, I suppose I have to include _Airplane!_, and _This is Spinal Tap_. And much as I want to pick something from the screwball comedy era, for laughing out loud funny I guess I’ve gotta go with _Raising Arizona_.

My (by no means exhaustive, and subject to change in the next five minutes) list:

Raising Arizona
The Big Lebowski
Pulp Fiction
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Office Space

And nearly every other movie mentioned in this thread, really. (Special Hon. Mention to Kicking and Screaming, which while being a really funny movie, manages simultaneously to depress the living hell out of me.)

</div>

In no particular order:

Marx Brothers, _A Night at the Opera_ for choice.
_The Party_ (thank you for the reminder bagkitty)
_Don’t Tell Her Its Me_ (nobody else seems to have heard of this, but I thought it was hysterical. I lent a copy to a friend who was miserable while recuperating from surgery, about which she had been reticent. Pity it turned out to have been abdominal surgery.)
_The Princess Bride_
_Young Frankenstein_.

Arrrrrgh. I forgot _The Ritz_. If it’s 5 only, _The Princess Bride_ bites the dust - the book was way funnier anyway.

</div>

Airplane! – I’ve seen it at least 50 times, and it is still hilarious.
This is Spinal Tap.
Kentucky Fried Movie
The Naked Gun
Eddie Murphy’s “Raw” – So hilarious it hurts.

</div>

1. It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
2. Strange Brew
3. The Blues Brothers (the $100 million worth of car crashes and good music definitely help)
4. This Is Spinal Tap
5. Caddyshack
_Honorable Mention_: Clerks, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, There’s Something About Mary, History of the World Part I, Kentucky Fried Movie, Cheech and Chong’s Up in Smoke.

</div>

I don’t have a Top Five list, just One movie no one’s mentioned:

_Brain Donors_

Starring John Turturro as Roland T. Flakfizer – and if that sounds an awful lot like Rufus T. Firefly, you’re right. It’s a hilarious Marx Brothers movie without the Marx Brothers. I loved it, but it didn’t last in the theaters and it’s now hard to find on video store shelves. A pity.

I hate to admit it, but since no one else mentioned it…

**Wayne’s World**

</div>

Hmmm.

South Park

Blazing Saddles

The Snapper

Duck Soup

Mystery Science Theatre 2000

The movie I laughed the most during was _The People Under the Stairs_. This had nothing to do with the quality of the movie, everything to do with my buddy’s sarcastic comments.

Well, there are a lot that I like that have already been listed. The two best, though, and the haven’t been listed (!) are:

**Bottle Rocket**

and

**Rushmore**

If you haven’t seen these you are missing out on two classic movies. Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson are absolutely brilliant writers, and the movies are extrememly good. I wish that I’d chosen Future Man for my user name. Oh well.
