Saved! (2004) 7.0 I don’t know it, what type of comedy is it?
It’s a religious satire starring Jena Malone, Macauluy Culkin, and Mandy Moore that lampoons false piousness.
With the exception of _Rushmore_ & _Election_, **10 Things I Hate About You** is leagues better than any of the films you have in your Top 10 (last 10 years) list.

And how in the world can you possibly call _The Graduate_ a “non-comedy”? Have you actually seen it?
Okay, on “10 things”, your opinion and all. I didn’t like it much. Lets see your list, I did not mean for mine to be authoritative, just a working list to start this.

I have seen _The Graduate_ several times. To me it fails to make the genre on two criteria. It is really a post college movie and I thought it more a light hearted drama than a comedy film. I think it is a very good movie, just not in the genre actually. IMDB does consider it a Drama / Romance / Comedy. I am not sure if this supports you or me. 😉

I saw “Valley Girls” listed but recall the title was “Valley Girl”, and I though this was a really good romantic comedy for that time.
Was that College? I think of that as post College, now they are adults. I don’t think it fits despite the cast.
That was about St. Elmo’s Fire – and I think the same thing about Harold and Kumar. They _visit_ a college, but I think it is more about what happens after college. It’s more along the lines of St. Elmo’s Fire (which I love) and Reality Bites (which I think bites).

That’s a fair complaint. I guess \*\*H&KgtWC \*\* does not fit. Call it a road movie comedy instead or just a stoner movie?

**phungi** , thanks for the correction, it was Valley Girl (1983) with a 5.9 rating on the IMDB. The last three on my list, were last minute additions.

Porky’s (1982) 5.7
Road Trip (2000) 6.3 Where to you put it? Do you recommend it?

Road Trip was pretty good; I’d say 6.3 is a fairly accurate rating.

I’d recommend checking it out, there are some pretty funny parts…

Harold and Maude (1971) 8.0 on the IMDB, A great movie, but was it really a high school or college comedy? I don’t remember school having any play in this movie. I recall funerals, suicides attempts and of course the funniest 80 year old ever.
Nice addition, Just One of the Guys (1985) 5.7

> Terry Griffith has got it all – looks, popularity, the perfect college boyfriend, and an article that’s a shoo-in to win her a summer internship at the local newspaper… or so she thinks. When Terry’s journalism teacher passes her article up in favor of a couple of pieces written by boys, Terry is convinced that sexism is to blame. Determined to win the internship at any cost, Terry goes undercover at a rival high school to resubmit her article… as a boy. But Terry gets more than she bargained for when she finds herself fending off a bully and the advances of an oversexed female admirer, and falling for her new pal Rick.

If I remember correctly, the best joke is that as a boy, she looks like Ralph Macchio. I liked the fact the brother and sister actually got along and seemed more like real siblings than sitcom siblings.

It’s in my op, IMDB voters gave it a 7.4 rating. I like it a lot, but it is over 10 years old and did not make my personal top 10 all time list. Like American Graffiti & Fast Times, it is amazing to see all the great actors that were largely unknowns for Dazed and Confused. An excellent choice, do you have a top list of your own?
