I read 61 books this year - what a wild ride! - with my top ten being: 1. **Lolita** - Vladimir Nabokov 2. **Cry, The Beloved Country** - Alan Paton 3. **To Say Nothing Of The Dog** - Connie Willis 4. **The Orphan Master’s Son** - Adam Johnson 5. **The Bone Clocks** - David Mitchell 6. **The Heart is a Lonely Hunter** - Carson McCullers 7. **A Visit From The Goon Squad** - Jennifer Egan 8. **We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves** - Karen Joy Fowler 9. **The Narrow Road To The Deep North** - Richard Flanagan 10. **Among Others** - Jo Walton Bloody brilliant, all of them. ---
