> God didn’t create through evolution. 6 LITERAL days, not billions of years while he just chilled, waiting for that dang monkey to drop it’s tail.

It sounds like you’re a young earth creationist. You probably believe that God created the Earth what, about 10,000 years ago?

If you look up in the sky you can see the Andromeda Galaxy. If you look through a telescope it looks like [this](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Andromeda_Galaxy_%28with_h-alpha%29.jpg). It’s bigger in the sky than the full moon, but faint because it’s so far away.

If you use a more powerful telescope you can see that it’s made of billions of stars. So clearly it’s really big! And all those stars must give off a lot of light! But it’s so faint we can barely see it. How can that be?

It must be REALLY far away.

It turns out, if you do the math and take into account the number of stars and how bright they are, Andromeda must be about 2.5 million light years away.

You can look up and see it (just barely) with your naked eye, but it’s 2.5 million light years away!

However, if you’re a young-earth creationist, Andromeda is a problem. If God DIDN’T just sit around and chill after he created everything, how did the light from Andromeda have time to get here? From the evidence of Andromeda alone, the universe has existed for at least **250 times longer** than the Bible says it has. What was God doing for all that time?

Of course, there are many other galaxies out there besides Andromeda, and almost all of them are much, much further away. Did God create the universe with the ILLUSION of light from distant galaxies already flying through space on it’s way to us?

That seems like a pretty tricky, dicky thing to do!

So, **supermegaman** , how do you explain Andromeda?

I apologize if someone else has already said this. I waded through the first page and decided to post.

Since a God driven creation cannot be disproved, it is by definition not scientific. Any scientific theory (an hypothesis proven by experiements and observations) must be dispoveable. Creationism is not. Therefor it is not scientific.

Wikipedia:

> The scientific method is an empirical method for acquiring knowledge that has been referred to while doing science since at least the 17th century. Although procedures vary from one field of inquiry to another, identifiable features distinguish scientific inquiry from other methods of obtaining knowledge. Scientific researchers propose hypotheses as explanations of phenomena, and design experimental studies to test these hypotheses via predictions which can be derived from them. These steps must be repeatable, to guard against mistake or confusion in any particular experimenter. Theories that encompass wider domains of inquiry may bind many independently derived hypotheses together in a coherent, supportive structure. Theories, in turn, may help form new hypotheses or place groups of hypotheses into context.

No one can ever prove God doesn’t exist.

Wrong-o.

The argument goes something like this: “I refuse to prove that I exist,” says God, “for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing.”

“But,” say Man, “the Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn’t it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don’t. QED.”

“Oh dear,” says God, “I hadn’t though of that” and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.

Man then goes on to prove that white is black and black is white and gets himself killed at the next zebra crossing

I find it interesting how some people don’t question the science that led to automobiles, airplanes, telephones, TV, computers, nautical navigation, space exploration, etc., etc. But when it comes to evolution, all of a sudden scientists are a bunch of babbling idiots.

You’re right, I do subscribe to a young earth model. I don’t know if it’s THAT young, but younger than millions of years. Now, how do I explain the light coming from stars that are so far away it would take hundreds of thousands of years just for the light to reach us? hhmmm.. I don’t know!

You see, I’m not saying I have it all figured out. I just have faith in a God that loves me. Maybe initially during the big bang, light and matter traveled outwards faster than it does today.

And yes, to answer another post, I do believe in the standard models of physics known today. I think it’s a stumbling block to “non-creationists” because again, where did those laws come from? Did EVERYTHING come from the big bang? How did something come from nothing? Time came from the big bang? Space?

Again, it takes more blind faith to believe such nonsense than it does to believe in a creator.

Here’s a question for you all to consider? What if you’re wrong? If I’m wrong, I’ve lived my life with morals and integrity, loving my fellow man, helping those in need, believing in a savior that ended up being make believe. So I’m a pile of bones and dust and that’s it and I’ll continue on through my children. BUT, if you’re wrong… and there is a judgment seat… and a creator that says, “depart from me, you who practiced lawlessness, for I never knew you.” It’s called hell and it’s a real place and it’s eternal.

THAT, my friends, is a pretty big gamble you all are taking upon yourselves.
Here’s another. Do you have a soul? hhhmmm??

I see that you aren’t here to actually discuss what we bring up. What does the additional question you posit above have to do with scientific proofs of creationism?

Nonsense. As has been pointed out thousands of times over the years, postulating a creator doesn’t explain a thing. It just adds a creator for which there is no evidence, and pushes all the “where did everything come from” questions back one step to it.

And what if you’ve picked the wrong god and burn for it? Your false dilemma is known as Pascal’s Wager, and is full of holes just like your other arguments. And a loving god wouldn’t torture people eternally for any reason, much less just for not believing in him. The god you are postulating would burn _everyone_ in hell, just for the sheer fun of it.

> [@supermegaman](#):

> Do you have a soul? hhhmmm??

No. There’s no evidence that souls exist, that they can exist, and if they did exist that they do anything. The same goes for your thug-god, by the way.

Actually, God doesn’t have a problem with atheists. He DOES have a big problem with those who believe in him but chose the wrong religious group. I do hope that you happen to be a follower of Kimbanguism, as otherwise, you picked wrong. Sorry.

Anyway, since you seem to want to change the topic, can we discuss your New World Order post on that site instead? How about we start with the Illuminati, such as where they are currently headquartered, who’s in charge, etc? I might be wanting to switch jobs, and don’t know where to send my resume.

If you want to switch gears and go play “Pascal’s Wager,” you can find numerous threads dealing with that, as well. However, you opened this thread to post nonsense about science, so you should stick to that topic in this thread.

> [@supermegaman](#):
>
> Here’s another. Do you have a soul? hhhmmm??

Again, not relevant to this thread.
Witnessing is permitted, (not encouraged), in this forum, but we prefer that separate arguments be kept in separate threads.

(And, frankly, if you continue to conflate the vastly different concepts of evolution, cosmology/Big Bang, and abiogenesis as though those separate ideas are actually one, you are going to simply attract more posters to point at you and laugh at the ignorance you display. You complained that everyone was laughing at you instead of teaching you, but numerous posters have contributed significant information that you have ignored, then you demanded an explanation in terms that were unrealistic.)

There is no conflict between science and God, as several posters have noted. There is serious conflict between specific religious beliefs, (many invented in the last 200 years), and cardboard cutout caricatures of science. Your posts have championed the sillier religious beliefs while attacking the caricatures of science, (rather than actual science), so you are going to get nothing but grief as long as neither side of your argument addresses reality.
