Put me down for The Wrath of Kahn. That battle was really the whole point of the movie. It played out satisfyingly. Lots of destruction. Kirk at his cleverest. Admittedly, the access code thingy was a bit of Deux ex Machina, but that capability does make sense.
And when it comes to chewing scenery, Shatner met his match in Montalban.
yeah, #1 had to be the Mutara battle in TWoK. if only for its tension and heavy maritime/submarine feel.

Does DS9 Siege of AR-558 count? It’s technically on a planet, not in space, but it was intense.
I believe the best battle sequence was when the Orville was battling the Kaylon assault fleet…
Oops, sorry, wrong Trek 
I always liked Data commanding the Sutherland in part 2 of TNG’s “Redemption.” Not much actual action, but loads of tension as Data has to quickly counteract an attempt to pierce an anti-cloak blockade. Good character development for Data, and the Sutherland / Nebula class is my favorite ship design in the series.
