Seriously. There are much worse bands out there. I’m not saying anyone should like Nickelback. I’m not saying I like Nickelback. (I don’t. I’ll be happy to never hear another Nickelback song.)

But I think the large amount of hate results from them being successful at pumping out over-engineered songs that sound generic. There are plenty of other bands that do the same thing. Nickelback just seems to be the one everyone hates for it. Probably because they are one of the most successful bands despite their music being pablum.

Yeah. He’s obviously certifiable, and most of his antics are deplorable, but he can make astonishing music whenever he’s bothered to try. And sometimes he even stumbles into gold while not trying.
