The Joni Mitchell Playlist

  1. Twisted - Joni Mitchell
  2. Big Yellow Taxi - Counting Crows
  3. Both Sides, Now
  4. Raised on Robbery
  5. Help Me
  6. Free Man in Paris
  7. Talk to Me
  8. Woodstock

And Counting Crows cover of Big Yellow Taxis is all right, but I prefer Joni Mitchell

My intent was to show that many people covered her songs. For example Both Sides Now and Woodstock are better know by other people that covered her work, which is a great compliment to any artist.

Now back to our regularly scheduled thread.

  9. Blue

OK I do see your point. Yes, lots of well-known covers. And some years ago I heard Judy Collins doing a really bad cover of Both Sides Now, with a very odd rhythm. She said that she had to mix it up because she was tired of it, but it just sounded weird.

One of the best transitions I ever heard on FM radio was merging the end of this song (the long piano chord) with the beginning of Red Rider’s “Lunatic Fringe.”
