Patti, I love ya to death. I really do. And I understand what you’re doing here. You’re not using that word as a racial epithet but as a catch-all term for anyone who’s “outside of society,” and you’re celebrating that status, and you wanted a word that would have some impact. Your intentions cannot be questioned. Still, I don’t think it’s your word to do that with, and if you’d found damn near any other word at all, I could blast that song out of my car.
