Ozzy’s bassist Bob Daisley wrote the lyrics both to memorialize AC/DC singer Bon Scott’s death by alcohol poisoning and to warn Ozzy himself about the imminent dangers of his excesses. The “solution” doesn’t mean “something that resolves a problem” – it means in abstract “something potable”. The “suicide solution” was alcohol.
