For those Dopers who are finalizing their lists for the Death Pool threads :slight_smile:

I’ve never thought of this week as “blah” - it’s always been a rather busy time for me over the years, including after I retired. Plus, It’s Christmas! YMMV

I look at it as kind of a ‘blaah’ week because it seems like this whole week everyone is just laying low, saving up strength for one big last-gasp blowout on New Year’s Eve. Yes, it’s still the Christmas season, but Christmas seems to have vanished from everyone’s mind like the popping of a soap bubble. The radios aren’t playing Christmas music any more, I’m seeing discarded ‘real’ trees on the curbs already, and everything in the stores is being reset with massive displays of goodies for the Super Bowl snackfest or Valentine hearts and such.
