As I was riding on the subway today, my thoughts drifted to quantum mechanics. (It’s happened to you too right?) Of course my knowledge of the subject is somewhat limited and was hoping some “Dopers” could enlighten me further on this fascinating topic. I would especially be interested if people could expound on the work of Max Planck, Nils Bohr, Louis de Broglie, Werner Heisenberg, Erwin Schrödinger and Paul Dirac. Please cite specific references that you used (including page numbers, URL’s and so on). If someone cared to explain wave-particle duality, the importance of the discovery of the positron and maybe the equivalence of energy and matter, that would really be fantastic. Oh and could responders make sure that they double-space their replies? Gee that would really be great. Oh and I must stress this is _not a homework assignment_. If the responses to this question are to my liking, maybe someday I might be on the subway and think about, oh maybe … “Summa Theologica” by Saint Thomas Aquinas and might want to know more about this fascinating work. I’m sure some doper might want to write a 10 page critical analysis focusing on the work and its influence on the secular as well as the clerical populations of the time. Oh and _this isn’t a homework assignment either_ ! ---
