Yep. Counting down the days (I also put this on **OpalCat** ’s SDMB event calander… calendar… dang, I must be really tired, I can’t remember the right way to spell that word). I just realised today that my director has me scheduled for a rehersal that Saturday. I’m so not looking forward to how pissed he’s going to be when I tell him I’ve got a wedding to go to, or something like that. Ah well. Maybe I told him back in April I was going to be gone, and he just forgot… yeah, that’s it. ---

Hm, Yahoo tells me it’s a six hour drive from Ann Arbor to Toronto, so…I’m interested. I just moved to this part of the continent this week, though, so am still unemployed (blech). Hopefully this problem will be resolved soon, so let’s just say that if I am gainfully employed by mid-July, I’ll be there. ---

Maybe it’ll be over by then? I hope. Let’s all hope. A friend wants me to go to some kind of Ren Faire thing out near Hamilton on that weekend. This creates difficulties. I’ll try to come for at least one day’s events, anyway. **Warning** : I am extremely shy. I may not say very much, but I will be listening… Oh, one last thing- if we go to the Island, will someone bring a boom box, and will there be dancing? I’ll give everyone (male or female) bellydance lessons! 🙂 That is, if anyone wants me to. ---

I’d still feel like a stupidhead for going on holiday when unemployed if I don’t have a job at the time, though, so that limit stays. It’s looking up, though…I have an interview Friday that I feel really good about! Anyway, hopefully the strike will be settled by Dopefest time. ---

For now, we’ll operate on the belief that Mega-Mel won’t let the strike go two weeks. If nothing budges by the end of next week, I’ll post some contigency plans for the BBQ (easy enough to move it to Mississauga or Brampton; the CUPE local in Peel Region isn’t striking). As for accomodations, I need to know who needs Friday and Saturday, and who just needs Saturday. As well, how many will be driving, and how many by train/bus. Directions will go out today. ---
