I don’t think it should be a problem. Lots of bars around where you’ll be staying.
Seven for dinner, then. Awesome.

I’m counting four. Am I right? Mr, Sunspace, Cerowyn, and Haze, the Guest of Honour?
Only three Dopers in Toronto? :dubious:
What’s y’all’s verdict on Niagara Falls? Should I invest a day to stop by?
I’m fairly certain there are a lot more Dopers in and around Toronto. Perhaps they’re just shy.
Niagara Falls is, in my opinion, well worth a visit. Here’s an organized tour that includes Niagara-On-The-Lake and a winery, as well. Considering that one of the Maid of the Mist or the Journey Behind the Falls is included as well, the price seems reasonable at $79 CAD.
There are more, but they’re damned difficult to find. I think they get lost in the Underground City or something.
Have you ever seen it before? If not, then stopping by is a good idea. Other than that, it’s WAY overbuilt and touristy, especially since the casino went in.
Niagara-on-the-Lake, though, is quite cute.
NotL is lovely, and the wineries around it are a lot of fun. Jackson-Triggs and Hilldenbrand are right on the outskirts of town. Check out winery tours online. Do an icewine tour, if there are any available. Icewine is the best stuff in the whole world.
Niagara Falls is tacky, but the boat ride is awesome.
There definitely are more Torontonian Dopers, but they’re all in hiding. Kythereia! Paging Kythereia!
Just to check: this is the venue, correct? Rebel House pub, 1068 Yonge Street, just north of the Rosedale subway?
I find it hard to believe that a better crew than the Toronto Dopers can be found (no offense to anyone else! ). Enjoy your visit!
For something a little more off the beaten path, check out the Don Valley Brickworks where the bricks for many of the Toronto landmarks you’re going to see were made. There is a farmer’s market on Saturday mornings and there are always really good peaches. There is also a park and a couple trails you can hike.
If you’re feeling adventurous, hop the fence and check out the guts of the massive abandoned factory. Its an impressive sight despite all the graffiti. Take a brick home with you as a souvenir - they’re all stamped DON.
If you’re not sure, do an image search on Google for an idea of what the inside looks like - you’ll be convinced.
Which one? You got scads of husbands.
Most of them are tall. Mr. Lissar is dark.
Oh, hey, I can set her up with Lazy Husband! Then he’ll have a girlfriend, and his Mom will let him get a bigger fish tank! He’s tall and dark. And a basement-dwelling shy gamer geek.
Yup. That Rebel House, so Haze can experience very good poutine. Someone should bring butter tarts.
A tall, dark shy geek? Sounds almost too good to be true. :dubious: And how does having a girlfriend connect with fishtanks, dare I ask? I’m so confused.
holy.roller, I’m leaving Saturday, so I don’t think I’d have time to check out the farmer’s market. The factory does sound interesting. I’ll keep it in mind. Thanks!
skids in to a halt Coming!
Seven sounds like a great time–just enough time for me to get up there (or down there, depending on my work schedule). I’ll be there with bells on.
And just how will we tell you apart from everyone ELSE in the crowd with bells on?
Yay! More Dopers! I finally get to reassure myself that you’re really real.
Yay! The more, the better!
Giving this thread a bump just to remind y’all of my imminent arrival.
The only plans I’ve really made so far are my visa interview, a fancy lunch at the CN Tower, dropping by Li-Li’s place, and dinner with you guys (oh, and meeting Sunspace and Cerowyn on Monday night). Heh, that’s a pretty full schedule already. Yay!
Woot. I’ll look up Rebel House today and see if they take reservations. For five. Should the password be Hazel or Straight Dope?
Paperwork’s done. I presume you guys will call me after you’re checked in?

Yes.
