Toronto in June - Recommendations for dining and entertainment please!

I’m gonna miss everything! We do have reservations at Beerbistro, and lunch at 360 in the CN Tower. I think we are going to Keg for our dinner with relatives, and we plan to eat at Milagro on Mercer before the Second City show. We are going to the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday, probably one of the markets on Tuesday and Niagara Falls on Wednesday.

I am very excited!

Thanks to all for the great suggestions! I LOVED YOUR CITY! We had a fantastic vacation and it wouldn’t have been so awesome without your help.

Cool! What parts were particularly memorable?

The Hotel Victoria was lovely and within walking distance of everything. Day zero - we got checked in to the hotel and walked over to Beerbistro for dinner and kind of got our bearings. We did manage to arrive during the heatwave and our air conditioner wasn’t up to task. They replaced the unit with a clean one and everything was cool again.

Day one - we went to the Hockey Hall of Fame first thing, then we had lunch at the CN Tower. It was really cool to see the city from that vantage point. There were a couple of rain showers but they were quick and it was interesting to be in a shower from point blank range. After CN Tower, we found Steamwhistle Brewery and took a tour. I love that the history of the site was preserved and the trains were cool. That night we went to Second City to see the show and had a snack at Gretzky’s.

Day two - I decided I wanted to go to Kensington and I checked the website and found the best streetcar route to get there with a scenic view of the harbor and such. No where at all was it mentioned that the line on Queen’s Quay and half of Spedina were ripped up for construction. We ended up walking from Union Station (where we thought we could bet on the streetcar to begin with) down to the harbor, west on Queen’s Quay to Spedina, then all the way up Spedina to King before we could catch a streetcar. We were so tired by the time we got to Kensington that we found a place to eat lunch and went back to the hotel for a nap. We had dinner with my husband’s relatives that night at the Keg.

Day three - we took a tour bus (Greyline Tours) out to Niagara Falls. That was a really good trip with a great guide. The only thing I didn’t enjoy about Niagara Falls was the carnival atmosphere when you weren’t right there at the Falls.

The PATH is a marvel. I can’t believe how much is underground!

The PATH is definitely very handy. And there’s definitely a lot of construction around Union Station; I work across the street from it, so I’ve been having to weave my way through all of the detours, too!
