# Toronto tourist advice

I plan on visiting Toronto next week. Not sure yet whether it’ll be a day trip or an overnighter. It’s been about ten years since I visited the city and I imagine a lot has changed.
One thing I used to do when I visited Toronto was drive to the Yorkdale Mall. I could park my car there and then go to the subway station that was next to the mall. I would take the subway into the city, walk around, and then take the subway back to the mall to get my car and drive home.
Is this still a viable plan? The mall appears to still be in business. But I’m concerned maybe they’ve decided to crack down on tourists like me using their parking lot all day.
Also, I see the mall closes at nine pm. If I get back late on the subway, am I going to be able to get to my car after nine?
If somebody has a better alternative plan, I’m open to ideas.

Yorkdale Mall has a dedicated paid commuter parking lot that is open 5am-2am.

It’s a great choice for going downtown. The mall has expanded a number of times and is one of the highest grossing malls per square foot in North America.
ETA: the 401 truly sucks. Expect to be stuck in traffic if you are on the highway anytime between 6am-9pm.

I have no inputs about the mall. A couple of other things, for general Toronto tourist advice, is that if you’re a fan at all there’s the Hockey Hall of Fame. Also if it’s a nice day then you can go up the CN Tower.

I believe this is still viable, and in fact a pretty good idea. Toronto is a great city if you never drive anywhere.

20-25 minutes, about 11 stops. My station is 3kms south of Yorkdale at St Clair W and it takes me about 15 minutes.
