Öh, sure, but I’m assuming that the three of them will be looking for shows to front, and of all the Mythbusters alumni, he seems the least likely to able to head up a show.
A couple of years ago, Adam and Jamie paired themselves up with a website, Tested.com, and have contributed regular non-Mythbusters segments to them, coming to it as makers, problem solvers, and as the obsessive movie prop fan that Adam is.
I wonder if Tory, Kari, or Grant should do something similar with, say, Make, or Gizmodo, or Engadget, or somewhere like that.
But have you seen the other stuff she hosted, like the amateur rocket fest? She’s horrible! All screetchy excitement and no substance. Sure, she is quite the eye candy, but that’s not really enough to sustain a show (or at least, it shouldn’t be!).
Given that his estimated net worth is in the low seven figures - based on richest.com and celeb net worth - I’d have to say he’s in the enviable position of choosing his next - if any - project. That would be without any royalties from his time there.
In truth, that’s likely to apply to all three of the build team. Don’t shed your tears for them, they don’t need them.
I honestly don’t think that’s her fault. What she needs is a producer who isn’t operating under the delusion that big booms, whooping and howling is what makes people watch Mythbusters. I’m sure she can do substance, if she’s given half a chance.
I might have missed it, but has it been made public why they were fired?
As quoted in the EW article linked above:
I’m fairly certain that it came down to budget. As the article notes, it’s SOP in TV that, when a show gets renewed, the cast gets raises. I have to imagine that the producers reached a point where they decided that they couldn’t afford to keep 5 stars on a show. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Build Team was told, “we’ll keep you, but only at a lower salary”…and that could easily be why the Build Team told them to go jump in a lake.
