Saxophone. Especially since it’s considered “sexy” due to it’s association with 80’s slow jazz and Bill Clinton. It’s bleating especially gets on my nerves, although I might allow a dispensation that alto is the evil one and tenor is not, or vice versa. I just don’t know enough to know which is which. The [Sexy Sax Man](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaoLU6zKaws) is kinda funny, though. Bagpipes are awesome. And accordion, concertina, hurdy gurdy, etc. They belong in good styles of music. Slow jazz doesn’t have much going for it except nostalgia and making dentist’s offices more torturous. ---

Theremins are awesome. Of course, I might be just saying that because I have one built from a kit. But a properly played theremin rivals a violin for ethereal beauty of sound. Oboes, however, can disappear. What’s the old line, “the ill woodwind no one blows good”? ---

What’s that thing they play in the stadiums in South Africa? That. Also, auto tune. There are far far better sounding production tools for making singers sound lovely, and not like a robot. ---

The sax is awesome. I can’t get enough of it. There’s plenty of good rock and roll music with sax. Billy Joel’s “Only the Good Die Young,” for one. “Sad Cafe” by the Eagles. “Who Can It Be Now?” by Men At Work. Huey Lewis’ (don’t laugh) “Trouble In Paradise.” Boots Randolph’s “Yakety Sax.” How can you deprive us of those? ---

Well, I don’t like violins. But I wouldn’t delete them. I just don’t tend to listen to music that has violins. Also, they can work as a sort of background. Also, flutes. Again, I wouldn’t delete them. I would limit them to one per orchestra, however, and NO SOLOS. Oddly enough, the flute was one of my instruments. (And we had a saying: You know how to get two flute players to play in tune? You have to kill one of them.) Also odd, I generally like fiddles. And piccolos.
