# Totally Unimportant....But....

I noticed that in [this](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=29948&pagenumber=1) thread L.A.Joe has submitted two posts, however his (or her) post count reads one post. How come? This is not a complaint about the message board, so mods don’t waste any time over it, just curious, that’s all.

Some sort of system burp, I guess; the time differential is such that I don’t think our poster hit the button twice. (Or if he did something really weird happened.)

I’m inclined to simply let it go and if it happens again, then I guess it’ll be something to take to the techs.

Thanks for the notice; we don’t always see everything.

And also, when you click on his profile, it says he hasn’t posted yet at all.

I think someone said on this forum that there was a delayed reaction to get some items updated, so that searching would give different totals. As the day wore on, the search count would again match the post count.

The search count for Bilder rose from 4 to 5 to 7 to 13.

But it’s still only 12 when you search by Match Exact instead of Match Partial. Both should yield the same result in his case, since Bilder isn’t part of anyone else’s name.

Might have to do with a backup file JDavis reported reinstalling at one point, or something like that.

Some counts are just going to be a little off forever.
