Huh. I’m not a huge fan of rabbit, either, but the rabbit I’ve eaten has been rather bland.

The first time i ate rabbit, the host told us it was chicken. I was surprised by the taste, and suspected he’d lied. So, while it tastes like a mild meat that’s not bloody, i would not say it tastes like chicken.

If your rabbit tastes gamey I suspect you are having hare. They look similar, but taste very different.
This thread is making me long for the rabbit my grandmother made, ages ago, when I was a child.
The Toulouse Lautrec recipe looks like it overcooks the rabbit and has too many ingredients for such a neutral tasting meat, but I may have a preconception there.

The rabbit I have had tastes like … rabbit. And not gamey.

The rabbit I had for Christmas dinner was breaded and deep-fried, like chicken. I might have been fooled into thinking it was, had I not been told beforehand that it was rabbit.

My mother spent her early years living on a farm in Missouri. It was a long time before she realized she’d been eating Peter Cottontail every Sunday.
