I finally watched the ~25 min summary of stage 12 – Not many folks DIRECTLY involved, but for those who were - OUCH. There were a LOT of folks affected (having to slow down/stop so as not get hurt) just behind the crash as well.
Pedersen now 40 points ahead for green.
Veistroffer once again leads all alone for 80+% of the race.

Stage 13 – probably my favorite so far – several groups ahead of the peloton with a bunch of splitting and joining.
Pidcock jumps up 4 places*, gets 11 total KOM points, 28 sprint points, and wins most aggressive. For a while he was ahead of Vingegaard in the virtual standings.
* Only 9 seconds behind Evenepoel for 3rd place.

Stage 14 (July 18th) - Paret Peintre had more KOM points than Pogacar until the final climb where Pogacar blew everyone else out if the water.
Shakeup for the White (youth). Pedersen’s lead is now 36 points.
Stage 15 is another mountain stage – with a rest day after so should be interesting.

Stage 15:
When Quinn Simmons pulled ahead I knew he would not keep it, I’ve seen this scenario way too many times. He did get “most aggressive” and a top 10 finish at least.
Had Vingegaard not crashed, how far behind would he have been at the end. No way to know, but possibly less than 5 minutes which is how far #2 Evenepoel is. Good job winning the stage as I don’t think Pogacar gave it to him.
Del Toro is back in white.
Pedersen is 31 points ahead for green
Pogacar is 22 KOM points ahead.
Tomorrow is a rest day, and stage 16 is an individual time trial.

There were some sprint and KOM points, but I don’t think they affected standings.
The white (youth) is definitely the closest, only 20 seconds separate Del Toro from Seixas
Today is officially “flat”, but I would call it “hilly” – one cat 3 and three cat 4 climbs (lower is tougher)

The UAE team looked very weak toady, obviously knocked out by a virus, and I was surprised that Red Bull with Remco didn’t attack Pog on the last climb. But a great and deserved victory by Richard Carapaz, he’s such a good rider, always attacking with great spirit on the climbs.
Stage 19 – mid race Paret Peintre had enough KOM points to surpass Pogacar. In the end, Carapaz leads Pogacar by >>1<< point. Paret Peintre is 6 behind Pogacar, so may be in the lead mid race tomorrow (it is possible Pogacar will not win KOM, but I wouldn’t bet on it)
Pogacar wins the stage, and fastest climb of the Alpe D’Huez, and is not 7’11" ahead overall.
Pederesn leads in Green by 57 points.
Tomorrow they climb it again at the last real stage of the tour – The last stage into Paris is almost a parade.

Great win by Pogacar, half his team was sick or even out and couldn’t help him much, but he took it into his own hands at Alpe d’Huez and deservedly won. He also broke Marco Pantani’s 30 years old record for that climb by more than a minute.
Usually that’s the case, but not this year. If you remember last year’s final stage at Paris, it included Mont Martre, like in the Olympic race in 2024, and in the finale it was one-on-one between Pogacar and Wout van Aert, which van Aert won in the end. This year, the last stage has a similar profile, also including Mont Martre, so it probably will not be a stage for the sprinters.
ETA: if you mean that at the last stage, the yellow jersey won’t be in jeopardy, you’re of course totally right. That won’t happen, especially with a lead of >7 min.
What a great day for Richard Carapaz! First securing the polka dot jersey, and then winning the stage. Of course it was tragic that Sepp Kuss crashed twice on the final decline when he had a 15 second lead, but I’m quite sure that Carapaz would have caught him even without those crashes. But Kuss’ second crash was very terrifying, fortunately he was saved by a net from falling into a very steep abyss, this could have been life-threatening. Pogacar could have won if he wanted, I’m sure, but he rode for his young team mate Del Toro today to secure his third place and white jersey. It was nice to see them finish arm in arm. Proved that Pog is not always a cannibal, he can also be quite generous, at least to loyal team mates.
Kuss finished 31 seconds behind Carapaz, I’m not so sure Carapaz would have won. How many seconds did those crashes take? (not to mention riding injured). On the other hand, Kuss was, what, 20 seconds at the most ahead.
Kuss did get most aggressive.
Well, at least someone besides Pogacar gets the KOM (not that I dislike Pogacar, but I do like it when the jerseys are spread). Pedresen gets the Green, and Del Toro is 2’14" ahead for the White.
So the only real competition is stage win (which is not unusual)

That’s also worth pointing out: Mads Pedersen worked as hard for the green jersey, not only today, as Carapaz for the polka dot jersey. Both definitely deserve those jerseys.
