# Toxin-eliminating candles, are they a hoax?

The more famous and the longer you can expect their fame to last, the larger a production run you can do.
Probably, some guy manufactured a few million Jesus candles back in the 70s and he’s just been selling them every year since then, raising the prices to match inflation.

We’ve used a variety of dehumidifiers. Right now, we are using a super one that
1. pumps the excess water through a tube to outside a window. (Or down a drain, depending on how you place the tube)
2. has a sensor, and cycles on and off, depending on how humid it is.
I leave it on all summer, and it never makes the room excessively dry.
(In the winter i put it away and seal the window too tightly to run the tube out of it.)

One challenge with using a plug timer is that the dehumidifiers typically need to be turned back on when the power is restored. They have the soft push buttons rather than a switch that will stay in the on position. But it’s pretty common for dehumidifiers to have buttons where you can set the max/min levels to control when it runs and stops. You can have it turn on when the humidity gets above a certain level and then turn off when it gets below a different level.

Nice fresh air. That is what you need.
Open those windows. Run some “clean” fans.
I realize you can’t always do this.
Or …you could move.
No woo candles are gonna cut it.
You’re lucky tho’, you have a headstart on the break through when the fungus apocalypse kills off half the earths population. Then it catches a virus and all the fungus dies. A few years in a dystopian world and your iPhone will work again.

A dehumidifier like this one can just be plugged in and left to run. You select a preferred humidity and connect the hose to a drain, and all you need to do is clean the filter from time to time:
