OO i loved the old school matchbox tracks!
Transformers were my favorite. In fact, I still have all of mine, if anyone wants to come over and play. I get to be Starscream!
Voltron
G.I. Joe, and a short lived toy set, Starcom.

The Glo-Worm, Lite Brite, Cabbage Patch Kids, Chubbles–someone tell me they know of this toy–Wonder Blocks, My Little Pony, Cherry Merry Muffin and, dammit anyway, I’ve forgotten the name of my favorite childhood toy. They still have them. The plastic things with the circle things that you put inside and you point it to the light and there’s a cartoon in there. It has the lever to flip through the frames. Cartoons like “Steamboat Willy” and such. Anyone?
viewmaster…
You are talking about the legendary View Master.
I used to play with the “Maple Town” and “Sylvania” toys. They were basically these cute little families of bears, raccoons, bunnies, etc. that wore clothes and lived in houses…
(I hope someone remembers these things, because that description sounds really crazy.) I think they were about late '80s.
I had a View Master for absolutely years before I realised they were meant to be 3D images.
My fave toy when I was a kid was Model Railroads. And i still like them, even though I am currently not quite so geeky as to have one set up in my basement or anything.
However… one day I probably will.
He-Man and She-Ra rocked!! I mean what is cooler than that? And the movies and tv shows. when we were travelling as kids and asked how much longer my parents would tell my sister and I two more She-ra’s to be an hour. It was a language we could understand.
“Lite-Bright” was also one of my favorites.
Baglady, I was wondering if someone was going to mention Rubic’s Cube. I also had a Rubic’s revenge… I could solve both as well as rubic’s magic puzzle. Those puzzle’s rocked.
I know that this is not necessarily an 80’s toy, but my brother and I played with Micronauts (I think transformers were insprired by Micornauts). We had them all and had a blast changing them into different things.
My brother had the first Tyco “Channel-less” race track where the cars could change lanes… VERY COOL
I also haven’t noticed anyone mentioning any of the Mattel hand held games like Basketball, Football, Indy 500 etc. I still have mine and they may be worth some money because they are still in mint condition.
Ah what memories.
Well…My toys were from the 70’s…but my brother had some cool toys from the 80’s. Anybody remember “Big Trac”? It was a progammable futuristic tank looking thing about the size of a tonka truck. You pushed the buttons to make it run a preprogrammed course…ie 6ft turn 45deg left…go 8 ft…etc. It was pretty cool. I also liked his little battery powered trucks called “Stompers”.
