# Trading Places Revisited

Remember that nice little Eddie Murphy/ Dan Aykroyd/Jamie Lee Curtis comedy Trading Places? Did pretty well in the theaters, good for some laughs?  
Well, I rented the video for my kids and some of their friends last weekend. I was going to show them a “really funny” movie from my youth.

The movie went along pretty much as I remembered until Jamie Lee Curtis takes off her top and flashes her tits.  
That scene hadn’t stuck in the old memory banks.  
It did grab the attention of the 12-year-old boys in the room.

There were 3 scenes in the movie that had bare breasted Jamie Lee or other women. For no reason particularly relevent to the story line. Then it all came back - the 1980’s, a time when every movie that wasn’t a cartoon had some nudity or a sex scene thrown in.

So now I’m at a loss - what 1980’s comedy would you show to teenagers and pre-teens today?

Don’t go with **Sixteen Candles** starring Molly Ringworm and Anthony Michael Hall either. I rewatched that recently and it also has gratuitous breasts thrown in for no reason.

Funny you should mention – I watched this the other week with my wife (who had not seen it before) on some US cable network in a hotel. The movie was uncut as near as I could tell, but the cheesecake scenes had been computer altered (brassieres, a well placed blanket etc.) So like a dope I said, “Heey, there’s supposed to be boobies there…!”
