The parents have been arrested, the boy is currently being remanded to a psychiatric facility (in part because children under 14 cannot be charged with crimes in Serbia), and a hit list was found at his house. I’m also anticipating lots of people hollering “misogyny” because 7 of the 8 student fatalities (the first person who was a security guard) were girls. Wow. Dad and tragic. It happened in Belgrade, the national capital of Serbia. And then the article quotes a (somewhat surprising) statistic that Serbia has the 5th highest gun ownership rate in the world, behind the US, then Falkland Islands, Yemen, and New Caledonia. ---
