I thought the other thread provided that evidence…let me find it.
I don’t find an unattached, unsubstantiated, uncorroborated “GPR image” that experts have questioned to be proof of anything. Just as if all I had was a blurry photo of a pirate chest overflowing with loot, and expected you to take everything about where it was, how I found it, etc. on faith… after you noticed the mostly-erased Disney logo in one corner.
Maybe it will all add up and the problem is Polish translation and Slavic secrecy/distrust. But I won’t be buying any shares of the enterprise.
The money will be in the horror franchise this silly story launches.
I wonder if it is as real as all the Spitfires buried in Burma/ Thailand/ Cambodia or whether they will find Amelia Earhart in it.
Drilling is now under way at the gold train site. Pictures here (text in Polish).
Look, they’ve found some pebbles!
Wash the dirt off and I think you’ll find they’re nuggets of gold!
I think the aim is to drill a hole down which a camera can be dropped.
So if the tunnels exceed 40 meters underground, isn’t that beyond the range of ground penetrating radar? Are those images moot now?
From what I’ve seen of the location, it looks as though the alleged tunnel would be less than 10 metres underground, so GPR penetration would be plausible.
They’re certainly going to a lot of effort, with the vegetation-clearing and army sapper preparation. Furthermore, looking at the location from Google maps (from pre-gold train times) there doesn’t appear to be a trackway there. Aerial footage from a couple of weeks ago revealed a dirt road had been created. The current photos show a tarmac road, which looks freshly laid to me (presumably to help get heavy drilling or excavation vehicles there, especially with the Winter coming, and also access, in due course, for transport trucks laden with gold).
The article linked in your post above says they have drilled to 40 meters without finding anything.
It says (from what I understand through Google Translate) that they’ve drilled five holes, one of which has brought up dust which could be concrete.
The link for the aerial footage video I linked to previously has been taken down and so I’ve found the original NBC source. The tunnel is likely going to be at the same level as the existing rail track. Perhaps it’s a little more than 10 metres deep - maybe 15 or so, I’m guessing. A 40 metre hole, though, looks as if it would go way beyond the required depth. It’s difficult to tie up the most recent photos with the other photos/footage to pinpoint exactly where they’re drilling.
We’ll have to wait and see.
Those Krakow guys just want the train for themselves!
Nonsense! Not only is there ONE train, there are 50 of them, still packed in their original crates and buried after the war.
I liked the VICE article’s title better: Killjoy Geologists Have Debunked Explorers’ Claim of a Buried Nazi Train Filled with Gold
Update:
Despite the doubts cast in December, treasure hunters have begun digging.

Because, dammit, there’s a pony in there somewhere!
