I’m with you, Anaamika. I really hope I’m the kind of 85 year old who doesn’t give a \*\*fuuuckkk \*\*what my tattoos look like at that point. I can see myself chilling in my rocking chair, sipping a glass of scotch, laughing at some young whippersnapper who thinks my sagging tattoos are something to cluck their teeth at with pity.

I have two tattoos, a small one upper chest and a largish one lower back. Both are a specific pattern for a specific reason on a specific place. You can just ignore me if you don’t like them. They don’t show in normal clothing, but I could care less if you see them. They are for me,not you.
If you are unable to accept someone’s differences, it is your loss.

I don’t like them, never have, never will. The female body is perfect as nature made it, no man-made alterations necessary. To me, it’s like drawing a mustache on the Mona Lisa.
I think they’re a non-trivial health hazard- tattoo parlors may have good sterile technique, or they may not. I’d prefer not to roll the dice. There are reasons that getting tattooed gets you out of the blood donor pool for a period of time, I won’t do something that risks my health to the point where my blood is unwanted.

This. While I respect some tattoos that are artistic and have deep personal meaning to its owner (and my wife has one that she gave herself for her 50th birthday; it neither makes her more or less attractive) seeing a tat and _knowing nothing else_ about the person makes me think “conformist” - someone wanting to be “edgy” _just like everyone else_ is. Of course additional information, say like a conversation, is often enough to overcome that prejudgement.
And on edit, why the bump after 4 or 5 months?

I have never met a tattoo-less person and thought to myself, “They would look better with a tattoo.”
For me, a tattoo cannot enhance a person’s appearance. But it can certainly detract from it.

While tattoos are not my thing, I disagree with this statement. I think straight teeth are more attractive than crooked teeth. I assume I’m not alone in this regard, which is why I paid big bucks for my daughters to be fitted with braces.

I would never get a tattoo myself but some ( most, actually ) of my closest friends have them, some extensively. Not for me, though.
But I will NEVER understand why young women ( or even older women ) feel the need to place signs on their butts like HOT, JUICY, and PINK in foot high letters directly above their nether regions. Guys will pretty much visualize you naked all the time without this advertising and I would think the extra attention is unwanted…girls, the city streets aren’t filled with Justin Bieber look-alikes trying to find a young woman to go out with, most of the men that are looking at your HOT JUICY PINK ass are the kind of guys that make you want to vow never to take off your clothes again ever for any reason.I laugh and roll my eyes whenever I see these outfits.
Yes, I know PINK is a Victoria Secret brand, but we also used the word in the 80’s porn industry ( I was a tech, not an actress ) as slang for a female labia spread wide open ( as in “give us some pink in the next shot”). That’s about the last word that I would plaster on my butt.

You haven’t spent much time in the real world (or watching “Cops” episodes), I take it.
The middle-aged woman who sold us our Lab puppy had one of these tattoos. We still refer to her as “Tramp Stamp”.

The worst TS story involves my 9yo niece.
Came home one day with a TS (one of those “stick 'em” tattoos kids get) that said “cutey booty”. Parents got mad, told her to remove it.
3 days later they get upset to find out that the kid hadn’t removed it.
WTF?

Isn’t the Mona Lisa supposed to be Leonardo DaVinci himself, in drag?
So, technically she DID have a moustache.
Or, she was actually an Italian woman, Lisa del Giocondo. Italian women are also inclined to have moustaches.
Or so I’ve heard.
And just as I’ve been accused, you haven’t spent much time in the real world, have you? There are some very unattractive women out there that God made. That’s why plastic surgery is a booming business.
From the tattoo POV, I still don’t get them. I watched the full season of Ink Master this year, to try to get an appreciation for the tattoo. Although I appreciate the artistic skill that an artist must have to create a beautiful drawing on skin, I don’t get the appeal of why one would want to be a canvas at all. To each his own, I know. But I didn’t see one person, man or woman, that made themselves better looking by the addition of a tattoo.
I know, I need to get out more.
