There is. Like I said, I do it all the time with the process I described above.

And I agree with beowulff–Spotlight probably wasn’t done indexing. Whenever I install an OS on a new hard drive, I just use Migration Assistant, and it pulls everything back in the same place as it was on the old computer.

Ah. Only, I didn’t want them in the same place, but in a discrete file.

In any case, I’ve got the files I wanted and there’s no need to do it again until I get that 2 terabyte external drive.
