Travel to Croatia - any tips?

We stayed in Srbreno, which is about half way between the airport and Dubrovnik and took with Uber or the water taxi into Dubrovnik. We didn’t make it anywhere else there.

Most of our swimming was in the pool rather than the sea.

We did bring a little “friend” home, as it turns out the runny nose I’ve had for the last three days is Covid. My wife is also positive, but with no symptoms. We were generally masked indoors, but almost no one else was.

I hope your new friend leaves quickly!

If you feel up to it, I’m curious how you went about planning the trip. I’m realizing the vast majority of my travel has involved visiting people over places, and I wouldn’t even know where to start figuring out hotels, internal transit, etc.

This thread is timely for me as we are doing a Vienna → Sarajevo → Dubrovnik → Split → Zagreb → Vienna car journey at the start of August. Haven’t had much time to research yet so any recommendations are welcome!

I download a couple of e-books from the library on Croatia for general info and used the TripAdvisor forums a fair bit. I usually have 1-2 trips in planning mode at any given time, but this has worked well for me.
