I need to put in a new fence to keep the new dog from getting out. The contractor proposes using treated pine. If the dog chews on it, do the chemicals pose a danger? I know older treated wood had arsenic, but this is new stuff.

Unless you know exactly what it is treated with, it’s hard to know, but the probability is high that the answer is yes. The lumber yard from which the wood will be purchased can tell you what it is treated with.
