The entire province of Alberta is maintained free of rats. [Here](http://www1.agric.gov.ab.ca/$department/deptdocs.nsf/all/agdex3441?opendocument) is the Agriculture Alberta article on the program and [here](http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/story/2009/09/01/calgary-rat-free.html) is an article from a couple years ago on their “rat scare.” ---
