# Trends in topics on the SDMB

In the past few weeks, there has been a dramatic increase in posts expressing anti-religious and pro-atheist points of view. Atheism and condemnation of religion have always been popular subjects on the SDMB, but for some reason it just seems like people are talking about it a _lot_ more lately.

A few months ago, there was no shortage of posts and threads about rape on the SDMB.

What other topics have had what seems like inexplicable waves of popularity on the SDMB? Let’s exclude topics that arose thanks to a single troll (e.g. circumcision), or events in the news. Was there a time when … oh, it seemed like _everybody_ was talking about cat declawing for a month straight?

Biblical topics are popping up a bit lately. You know questions that want answers from Biblical sources. Often, they’re the same thread as the atheist ones you’ve mentioned, but actual Bible quotes seemed to be a lot rarer in those before.
