I don’t think anyone is saying that- I agree with **Guinastasia** , I think everyone is just remembering the past things which they enjoyed, and wishing they’d return. No one has said “Geez, I’m so sick and tired of these non-segregated drinking fountains.” Or, “Christ, I can’t believe I’m not allowed to beat my wife anymore!” And **kase** , I don’t think you’re a :wally . Call me a rose-colored glasses-wearing wacky idealist, but maybe that whole random acts of kindness/pay it forward thing really works. I’d like to think so, anyway, or I’m wasting at least $5 everytime I go through a tollbooth. (Yes, I got the idea from a crappy talk show. Please don’t make fun of me.) ---

How does liking past black hair styles make one a racist who wants Negroes in their ‘place’? I’d like the return of deposit glass soda bottles. Good recycling and the soda tastes better from them. The return of dress pants for men and boys instead of these baggy things. Remember dress jeans? ---

IBC and Stewarts still come in glass bottles. I’m pretty sure they’re deposit, too, at least here in New York (everything ELSE is deposit here). ---

Wait wait wait wait–cargo pants are out? I still see a lot of people wearing them, myself included. Although I am NOT the person to ask fashion/style questions of, seeing as how my wardrobe consists of about a dozen polo shirts to wear to work, and a closet full of hockey jerseys. ---

I wasn’t the first to comment on it, I was only backing up **gex gex**. I didn’t say anything initially because this isn’t the pit, but I was hoping someone else noticed **Omnivore** ’s posts. A trend I would like to see return is for people to quit bitching about how much better things _used_ to be, society is constantly evolving and the time we live in is the best yet- but tommorow will be better. ---

Oh, and regarding **Grendel’s** last comment two posts up: I’m all for society evolving, but I (and possibly the other posters) just miss some of the silly shallow things from times past. Anyone who is taking this deeper than that needs to relax. Re: black hairdo’s from former eras–my wife is black, and I would _ **kill** _ to see her in a 'fro. I think it would be completely adorable (and sexy too). She refuses to comply, however. 😃 ---
