People also insist that fuck stands for “For unlawful carnal knowledge”. People say a lot of stuff.

“Bae” is just a lazy-ass way of saying “babe” which is itself a lazy way of saying “baby”. Eventually we’ll be referring to our loved ones with a barely vocalized “beh” sound.

Bay, because as mentioned it’s short for Baby. Maybe it is the evolution of “my boo”?
