Since we’re talking about the last meal before my execution I’d go the comfort food route. I’d want a meal that took me back to childhood, reminded me of happier times, and that for just a few moments would take my mind off the death chamber next door. The only food that really fits the bill would be a double cheeseburger from Whataburger, fries, and a coke. ---

Please no comfort food for me. Olfactory sensation has a strong connection to memories. I’d be afraid of memories from far better times flooding my brains, contrasting sharply with my current predicament. I’d be even more miserable. So I guess another helping of force fed goo (because I’d be hunger striking from the day I was sentenced). ---

Hmm. Everything bagels with lox, cream cheese, white-fish salad and chopped liver (don’t worry, not all on the same bagel!). A knish with cream cheese and mustard. A steak-and-kidney pie, a sausage-in-a-bun (not [this](http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/sausage-bun-isolated-white-background-34420112.jpg) kind; [this](http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/09/18/article-2204895-15128C31000005DC-539_468x286.jpg) kind). Finish it up with a strawberry milkshake, Five Guys burger and fries, and Haagen Dazs White Chocolate Rasberry Truffle. These are my ultimate comfort foods, so I’d probably end up bursting out in tears halfway through, but them’s the breaks. Of course, I can rarely even eat a single burger in a sitting, so hopefully I could have all this spread out a bit. ---

I’d be ver curious as to just how good a meal you could get from a prison chef – so my first thought would be “nothing really unusual”. ---

Something that isn’t obtainable out of season…and of course it would be out of its season. I’d say, damn the cholesterol, full speed ahead! All the Alaskan King Crab legs I could eat with a good pound of drawn butter and a big ole Linzer torte. ---

A single plum, floating in perfume, served in a man’s hat. But more seriously, assuming it was prepared in prison, chicken fried steak with hash brown patties, eggs over easy, cream gravy, and Sriracha. I haven’t had that meal in ages because it will kill me, but … Well, if not then, when? ---

Fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy plus country style green beans (you know, with bacon and onions) and iced tea. Medium rare steak with baked sweet potato and steamed broccoli and a Coke. Big fluffy pancakes with real butter and maple syrup plus cheesy scrambled eggs, thick cut bacon, and good coffee. Grilled pork chop with some cooked apples on top, wild rice pilaf, and asparagus cooked with butter and Parmesan cheese. Cherry cordial ice cream. Warm apple pie. Turtle brownie. Twizzlers. Reese’s Cup. ---

Aren’t you worried about your cholesterol? More seriously, I think I’d want the pheasant, quail and andouille gumbo from Prejean’s Restaurant that they sell at the New Orleans Jazz Festival. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Oddly, I don’t see it on their regular restaurant menu. Then again, I might come up with a different answer tomorrow. ---
