The songs that can be added to #1 are:

any songs that were also written by Prince

and the answer to #8 is:

the band Yazoo (Vince Clarke & Alison Moyet) were called “Yaz” in the US because the name Yazoo was already taken by a different band

Close enough on #1, although the best answer is a bit more involved. And bingo on #8.
