_Granny_ is a horror game wherein you are locked in a house and must escape. She has sensitive hearing so any sound you make alerts her that you are escaping meaning the strategy is different than most escape games. ---

An Escape Room is an immersive game in which multiple players are locked inside a room and must escape within a certain amount of time, using clues and hints which are hidden throughout the room. The first modern Escape Room was created by a publishing company called SCRAP in Kyoto, Japan in July 2007. ---

The Escape Club is an English pop/rock band formed in London in 1983. Wally Wingert is a disc jockey, announcer, and voice actor. In 1989, Wingert recorded a parody of The Escape Club’s hit song, “Wild Wild West,” titled “Adam West.” The song was about the star of the 1960s _Batman_ TV series, and also referenced Tim Burton’s _Batman_ film, which starred Michael Keaton; it was frequently played on the Dr. Demento radio show. In 2016 the University of Victoria (Canada) began offering a course called “EPHE 156: The Science of Batman.” The course will examine how the human body can be adapted and improved based on the metaphor of the Caped Crusader himself. It is run by the the School of Exercise, Physical and Health Education.The course would seek to explain the extreme range of adaptability of the human body explored through the life of the Caped Crusader. ---

On _Welcome Back, Kotter_, the principal of Buchanan High, John Lazarus, was often referred to by name but never seen. John Sylvester White portrayed vice-principal MIchael Woodman, the chief antagonist of Kotter and the Sweathogs. According to [Pokernews](https://www.pokernews.com/poker-players/all-time-money-list/), the professional poker player who has the most winnings is Justin Bonomo, who has won over 58 million dollars playing poker. Bonomo, who is 37 years old, was born in Virginia and now resides in Las Vegas. He has won three World Series of Poker bracelets. ---

The first **World Series of Poker** event took place at Binion’s Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas in 1970. It was set up to be a series of cash games that included five card stud, deuce to seven low ball draw, razz, seven card stud, and “Hold’Em” (later changed to “Texas Hold 'Em”). Johnny Moss was elected by his peers as the first “World Champion of Poker” and received a silver cup as a prize. ---

The English **statute mile** was established by a Weights and Measures Act of Parliament in 1593 during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. The applicable passage of the statute reads: “A Mile shall contain eight Furlongs, every Furlong forty Poles, and every Pole shall contain sixteen Foot and an half.” The statute mile therefore contained 5,280 feet or 1,760 yards. ---

An acre of land was originally described as the amount of land that could be plowed with a yoke of oxen pulling a wooden plow in a day. Sometime later this arbitrary measurement was determined to be 43,560 square feet, which is an amount of land measuring sixteen and a half feet by a half-mile. A square mile contains 640 acres. ---
