The first recorded Attorney General was in 1243, when the King hired a professional lawyer to represent him in Court. By 1461 the position had a political function, as the Attorney General was summoned to give legal advice to Parliament. In 1673, the Attorney General formally became the Chief Law Officer of the Crown.

In fact, the original name of the town was Losantiville, which means ‘The Town Opposite the Mouth of the Licking.’ The settlement was renamed to Cincinnati in 1790 by Arthur St. Clair, the Northwestern Territory governor.

_WKRP in Cincinnati_ was a television sitcom, which originally aired on CBS from 1978 until 1982. It was an ensemble comedy, about a struggling AM radio station in Cincinnati, Ohio. The show’s creator, Hugh Wilson, based it on his experiences while working as a sales rep at a popular Atlanta radio station.

Though _WKRP_ was only a modest success during its original run, it saw greater success as a syndicated re-run in the 1980s, and spawned a sequel series in the early '90s. It also served as a springboard for the career of actor Loni Anderson, who played the station’s receptionist, Jennifer Marlowe.

Christopher Marlowe was an Elizabethan playwright. He was killed in a tavern brawl in 1593 at age 29. There has long been speculation whether it was really just a tavern brawl, or if he was killed for other reasons. His killing is a plot point in _Shakespeare in Love_, which win the Best Picture Oscar and an Oscar for Judi Dench, who had one of the shortest Oscar winning roles in history.

Blues musician Robert Johnson died following a performance at a country bar. Reports say he was poisoned by a jealous husband of a woman Johnson has been flirting with that night. Fellow bluesman Sonny Boy Williamson claimed to have been there, and said Johnson was gifted a bottle of whiskey. Williamson admonished Johnson about accepting open bottles from strangers, but Johnson went ahead and drank from it that night.

Johnson died on August 16, 1938, at the age of 27; his death was one of the many deaths of musicians at that age which included Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain.
