There are three major grades of tequila: blanco (bottled shortly after fermentation), reposado (aged between two months and a year in casks before bottling) and añejo (aged more than one year in casks before bottling).

It’s not known where the name Dixie came from, but theories include the French word dix (“ten”) which was the nickname for a ten dollar bill, or from the Mason-Dixon line (named after two astronomers who surveyed the line for extra money).

John Henry Holliday of OK Corral fame was called “Doc” Holliday because he was a dentist by training, having obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery.
