Cat scratch fever is a usually benign infectious disease caused by the intracellular bacterium _Bartonella_. It is most commonly found in children 1–2 weeks following a cat scratch or bite. It was first discovered in 1889 by Henri Parinaud.

Built in 1889, La Moulin Rouge was best known (once upon a time) for popularizing the Can-Can.

Cleveland, Ohio, was originally spelled Cle **a** veland (emphasis mine) in honor of General Moses Cleaveland. (Accounts vary as to why the a was dropped but some say it was because a newspaper printer had to take out a letter for space.)
