Jerzy Kosinski, very ill and accused of plagiarism, committed suicide in 1991. He left behind a note which read, “I am going to put myself to sleep now for a bit longer than usual. Call it Eternity.”

Lawrence Oates, member of the Scott Antarctic expedition, was suffering from gangrene and frostbite. Scott records that Oates realised that the need to care for him was endangering the other members of the expedition, so he got up, said “I am just going outside and may be some time,” and left the tent.

He was never seen again.

The Lion of Judah is the symbol of the Israelite tribe of Judah. Judah, the fourth son of Jacob, is said to be the tribe’s founder. The association between Judah and the lion can first be found in the blessing given by Jacob to Judah in the Book of Genesis. Both King David and Jesus hail from the tribe of Judah. The Lion of Judah is also a phrase used in the Book of Revelation to represent Jesus.
